Red Dragon Manufacturing Ltd seeks value-adding Trustee Directors

Red Dragon Manufacturing Ltd (RDM) is the registered Swansea based social enterprise manufacturing high-end custom flags and other quality textile goods for the global market.

RDM’s proven business model and social mission rehabilitates those who may have previously been excluded from mainstream employment routes through a soon to be accredited eight stage training schedule.   Since launch in January 2014, c.100 people have been empowered in this way.

Recently partnered with Challenge Wales and The Wallich, RDM has ambitious plans to grow.  This growth will include the expansion of production in terms of both product lines and employees, an imminent move to shared premises (with the Wallich) and a wider trainee scope and reach, supported by the pastoral care offered by partners.

We are looking for value adding Trustee Directors to join, support and enable RDM’s CEO and incumbent Trustee Directors on this exciting journey.

A review of Trustee Director roles at RDM shows that additional members are needed on the voluntary board to support in certain specific areas and the Board of Trustees is now seeking to add to its number with those who may have one, some or all of the following experience and / or expertise.

  1. Human Resources – upkeep and updating of current policies, research and application of limited (private) company and social enterprise recruitment and employment legislation
  2. Tenders and grants – research of alternative supportive funding routes, composition and submission of tender and grant applications, management of social outcomes and audit of business practice versus and inclusive of those social outcomes of the business. RDM is reliant on sales revenue and is now ready to take advantage of grants available from a secure foundation
  3. Finance – liaison with external accountant and part time book keeper. Composition of quarterly management accounts.  Proactive financial lead, assessment, review, upgrade and restructure of financial processes as and when agreed / required
  4. Marketing (this may include public relations) – we are very active on social media (twitter, LinkedIn, facebook) and need a prolific writer to maintain a regular BLOG and submission of factual easy reads to mainstream press, publications and other BLOGS.

This would suit someone living in or fairly close to Swansea.  RDM hold Board meetings every six weeks and Trustee Directors liaise regularly during normal working hours.
