Job Description

Reporting to:      The Director

Hours of work:  preferably 16 hours per week to start (to be negotiated) and up to 28 hrs per week on satisfactory completion of training. Usual working hours are 10am to 5pm (flexible) Monday to Friday. There may be a requirement from time to time to start work earlier or finish later as the role develops and there is potential for an increase in the number of hours offered after the first months of the start of employment.

Annual leave:    28 pro rata on 40 hours pw including Christmas period and public holidays

Duties and responsibilities

This job description is designed to give an overview of the tasks and responsibilities for this position but is by no means definitive. The role will evolve and grow over time to meet business and market demands and training will be given both on the job and through external training channels where appropriate and available. The recruited individual will be expected to embrace such changes and rise to the challenge of developing their skills over time.

This position includes but is not exclusive to the following responsibilities:

o        Marketing Assistant including research campaign strategy

o        Assistant to the Director

o        Public relations

o        Marketing audit, strategy, processes and standards

o        Miscellaneous duties

o        Customer service including written and oral correspondence

o        Data input

o        Customer relationship management

o        Photoshop artwork, IT and digital (textile) print

o        Calculating quotes, issuing invoices, chasing payments

Essential skills

Good working knowledge of social media platforms

o         PC and internet savvy (Windows – word, excel)

o         Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and /or Illustrator 

o         Excellent oral and written communication skills – excellent grammar A PRIORITY

o         Excellent telephone manner and social graces 

o         A sunny disposition

Desirable skills

Full clean driving licence

o        Previous experience of role advertised, although full on the job training will be given
o        Practical experience of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator
o        Experience of CRM management
o        Experience of Mailchimp management
o        An interest in flags and vexillology, the manufacture of textile goods and best business practice
o         A flair for design and an imagination to challenge the norm.
